Individual psychotherapy
Therapy is a space to understand what’s happening, learn tools that work, and reconnect with who you are underneath the struggle. Sessions are held by secure video, and every plan is tailored to your goals.
Low mood, numbness, exhaustion, excessive guilt and loss of interest. We use approaches like CBT and ACT to restore energy, meaning and connection.
Worry, panic, irritability and trouble sleeping. CBT, ACT and CBT-I offer practical skills that help your mind and body settle.
For trauma that happened in childhood, during your adult life, or during active duty service, including combat trauma and military sexual trauma (MST). Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Prolonged Exposure (PE) are among the most effective PTSD treatments available.
Alcohol and substance use, met without judgment. Motivational Interviewing, MET and DBT skills help you build the change you want, at your pace.
Psychological evaluations (testing)
A comprehensive psychological evaluation, sometimes called psychological testing or assessment, uses standardized, validated measures to answer specific questions: clarifying a diagnosis, understanding how trauma, mood or substance use are affecting you and your abilities today, and pointing treatment or school supports in the right direction.
Evaluations are offered in person at my office in San Mateo, for adolescents ages 14 and up and adults.
We talk through your history and the questions you want answered. By telehealth or in person.
Several hours of in-person testing, with breaks. Prefer one visit? The interview and testing can be combined into a single day.
Approximately two weeks later, we review your results and recommendations together, by telehealth or in person.
Autism-specific evaluations are not offered. I’m glad to suggest a referral.
